Reapplying for Canada Visa after Refusal: What to Change Before You Apply Again from Ghana

Sending the same statements again is the same refusal.

Summary: You can reapply for a Canada visit visa after a refusal. There is no waiting period, and you pay the fee again. This page is for a refusal in Ghana. The any-passport rule for 2026 is on how to reapply in 2026. First, read Canada visitor visa refusal reasons for Ghana.

You can submit again the same day, once the circumstances have changed and you have new evidence. The fee is CAD $100, which is GH₵824.26 at GH₵8.242601 per Canadian dollar on 28 September 2026. A bank will not use that mid-market rate. IRCC does not refund the fee. On 1 October 2026, IRCC listed 83 days for a visitor visa from Ghana. That is a decision estimate, not a date you must wait to apply, and not a departure date. Check the latest time. The full fee table in cedis is on the Ghana refusal page. IRCC's visitor visa page is where the new application is filed. IRPR 179 is still the test.

Can I reapply after a Canada visa refusal?

Yes. There is no waiting period. You still need new evidence. Filing the same documents the same day is the same refusal. You pay CAD $100 again, GH₵824.26. That fee is larger than one month of SSNIT minimum insurable earnings, GH₵587.80, and smaller than one month of the worked net, GH₵6,142.50. The worked net is an example, not your salary.

Should I reapply or request reconsideration?

For an IRPR 179(b) letter, submit a new application. "Please reconsider," with no new document, does not change the letter. The webform and a Federal Court case are on the what-to-do page. This page does not restate that procedure, and it does not invent a webform fee.

What should I change before reapplying?

The line the letter named. The map of those lines is Canada visitor visa refusal reasons for Ghana. Apply again when the job, the company extract, the land search, or a completed trip is new. Do not apply again when nothing on the letter changed, or when the letter is inadmissibility.

Not sure what to change?

Paste your refusal letter and answer the questions. You'll see the concerns the officer flagged and the evidence to support your fix, plus a letter of explanation, an invitation letter, an exhibit index, a ties matrix, and an upload checklist.

How do I address the officer's concerns?

Say what the letter named, then point at the new document. That is one short account, not a drafted letter of explanation. Declare the previous refusal.

No leave datesThe employer letter sets the return date
A deposit of GH₵6,142.50 and no SSNIT lineThe statement shows GH₵357.50 for that month

How soon can I reapply?

The same day, after something the letter named has changed. Same day is not a reason to file the refused application again. You need new evidence. One of the ten changes below has to be true, and it has to be the line on your letter. Do not book the Canada flight before the visa, and do not treat 83 days as a departure date. Canada collects biometrics for Ghana at the Accra visa application centre, so an applicant in Kumasi, Tamale, or Takoradi has to travel to Accra for that appointment before the 83-day estimate even starts. Book it only after IRCC sends the biometric instruction letter. The centre is on the IRCC VAC finder and on IOM Ghana. Confirm the address there before you go.

Ten changes that count as new evidence before a same-day reapplication. The same file is the same refusal.

FAQ: Reapplying for Canada Visit Visa After Refusal What to Change for Ghana

Can I reapply for a Canada visitor visa from Ghana the same day, and do I pay again?

Yes, once the circumstances have changed and you have new evidence. There is no waiting period under IRPR 179. Filing the same documents the same day is the same refusal. You pay CAD $100 again, GH₵824.26 at GH₵8.242601 per CAD on 28 September 2026. IRCC does not refund the fee if the visa is refused.

Should I ask IRCC to reconsider, or submit a new application?

For an IRPR 179(b) letter, submit a new application. A note that says please reconsider, and adds no new document, does not change the letter. The webform and Federal Court options are on the what-to-do page.

Do I give biometrics again in Accra if I already gave them?

Only if IRCC sends a new biometric instruction letter. The Accra visa application centre is where Ghana biometrics are collected. Kumasi, Tamale, and Takoradi mean a trip to Accra for that appointment.

If I leave the old refusal out, will the next officer still see it?

Yes. IRCC keeps the prior application. Leaving it out of your letter does not remove it. Say what the letter named, and point at the new document.
