A Pakistani refusal is answered with SECP or an FBR NTN, not a higher rupee balance

Written and Edited by Peter AkarakiriLast updated on September 28, 2026
Pakistani SECP incorporation certificate and an FBR NTN printout beside a bank statement
Summary: A higher rupee balance does not answer a Pakistani refusal. A company shows Securities and Exchange Commission registration. The tax identity is the FBR National Tax Number, with the returns that should match the credits. A company is on SECP. The tax number that matches the income is the FBR NTN.

SECP is for a company, not for every shop

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan certificate of incorporation is the paper for a company. A sole proprietor usually has no SECP certificate. Do not invent one. For that file the tax number is the document.

The NTN is the tax identity the return sits on

The Federal Board of Revenue National Tax Number, and the returns filed against it, are what show the income was declared. The name on the NTN has to be the name on the account that received the credits. Invoices still have to explain the large deposits. An NTN printout with no return and no invoices is a number, not a source of funds.

The papers, in Urdu

  • NTN — نیشنل ٹیکس نمبر. FBR National Tax Number, plus the returns that cover the statement period.
  • SECP — کمپنی رجسٹریشن. Certificate of incorporation, and only if a company in that name owns the account.
  • Fard — فرد. Punjab land-record extract. Other provinces use their own form. Your name or your spouse’s, not a parent’s.

The test does not change by country

Whether you will leave Canada is IRPR section 179. That rule is the same for every passport. Read the letter, change the file before you pay again, and treat a lump and weak ties as their own pages. This page is only the local paper.

Pakistan only. Do not send another country’s registration.
