An Indian salary is Form 16 and the EPFO passbook, not a relative’s GST certificate

Summary: Upload Form 16 and the EPFO passbook for that UAN. Do not upload a relative’s GST certificate. On the worked payslip the net is ₹73,700 a month, and six months of that net is ₹442,200, which is CAD $6,528.55.

Most Indian salary files fail because the credit is not the net on Form 16

A private-sector salary in India is a monthly credit that should equal the net on the payslip, a Form 16 from the employer for the year those months sit in, and an EPFO passbook whose UAN is the employee’s. The basic on the worked payslip is ₹42,500. The employee provident-fund line on that same payslip is ₹5,100. Tax deducted at source on it is ₹6,200.

GST, Udyam, and the ITR answer a business. Those papers are on the India refusal page. A cousin’s GSTIN does not explain a salary credit into your account.

Worked Indian salary, not a file

One private-sector payslip. The provident-fund line is the amount printed on it. It is not a rate you type for every employer. CAD uses the ExchangeRate-API mid-market rate on 28 September 2026.

Worked example, not a court file and not your salary. CAD uses ExchangeRate-API on 28 September 2026: ₹67.733253 per CAD. A bank will not use this rate. Form 16 is the employer’s certificate for the year. The passbook is EPFO.

A job is one of the home ties an officer checks. There are others.

If your file does not show the other ties, the officer can refuse you again. The free analysis shows the evidence that your file must have.

The employer letter has to name the day you are back at the desk

The worked letter for this Indian salary approves leave and says the person is back at work on 17 March 2026. A letter that only says “employed” does not show a date the officer can put next to the trip.

The letter is on the employer’s letterhead, names the job, and matches the name on the payslip. Leave dates that overlap a one-way ticket do not help.

GST does not prove this salary

If the credits are payroll, the packet is Form 16, the payslips, the EPFO passbook, and the employer letter. The India refusal page is for business income. Do not add a relative’s GST certificate to a salary file.

A job is one factor. It is not the whole test

Home ties on an Indian file are still the sale deed, the children who stay, and a dated reason you are back. Those papers are on the India home ties page. The job is the employment half of that test.

Whether you will leave Canada is IRPR section 179(b). The salary shows income and a place to return to work. It does not replace property in your name, children who stay, or the funds sentence on the letter.

The test does not change by country

Whether you will leave Canada is IRPR section 179. That rule is the same for every passport. Read the letter, change the file before you pay again, and treat a lump and weak ties as their own pages. This page is only the local paper.

India only. Do not send another country’s registration.

Proof of employment Canada visitor visa India FAQ

If my India salary is paid in cash, does a Form 16 still help?

Only if the net on Form 16 is the amount that reached an account in your name. A cash salary with no matching credit is the claim the passbook cannot support.

Do I send my father’s GST certificate with an Indian salary file?

No. GST is the business page. This page is Form 16 and the EPFO passbook for your UAN.
